Hamster Rhodes –
Scheda dalle ottime prestazioni.

Finally got it working after 4 hours struggling with Windows to get it to boot. It wasn’t the graphics card but windows kept trying to boot using the old NVIDIA driver despite the fact that I had removed it 4 times! Heads up if you come from NVIDIA then windows will punish you. Remove the driver completely and ensure windows is using its default vga driver prior to fitting this AMD card. I also had to do a BIOS reset so not sure if that also solved my problem.
OK first impressions? Only tried it for a short while so far but this graphics card is simply stunning! It’s been a while since I updated my card coming from an old GeForce GTX 660. Luckily my 850 watt PSU had two 6+2 wires as that was an oversight on my part so you might want to check your PSU first as this card uses a 8 and 6 pin power connector. Basically you need two 6 + 2 wires.
I tried the graphics card on Elite Dangerous at 1440P and also 4K and at ultra settings and the game frame rate was soo incredibly smooth with stunning graphics. I haven’t overclocked the card yet so it was running at it’s default 1700MHz clock speed but the initial testing was impressive.
Update: 24/5/20. After owning the card for a week and playing several games at 4K I can seriously recommend this card. I haven’t had any driver issues nor any instability. The card runs solid even overclocked. Best graphics card I’ve had. Not sure why some people are complaining about driver issues as I haven’t experienced any issues at all so don’t be put off by negative reviews. I am using this graphics card in a system which is 9 years old running Windows 10. The AMD Radeon software is excellent and allows you to control and monitor the graphics card based on the games you have installed so you can tweak various overclock settings as needed. I’ve now got Elite running in overclock mode with 2100MHz set on the GPU and with max video settings in elite in getting back 78FPS! Overall I wouldn’t hesitate buying it again knowing what this card is capable of over the last week.
My only other advice is check the price you pay even prior to dispatch. I ordered this card on Saturday and it was at £387. Then I noticed later that day the card was reduced to £360! Amazon wouldn’t refund the difference so I cancelled it and just reordered it at the lower price as it hadn’t yet shipped! For £360 I would seriously consider this card as I wouldn’t bother buying an NVIDIA 2070 super for another £200 or so. YouTube videos actually shows this card is very close to the 2070 super so it’s definitely well worth going for this card providing you don’t want Ray Tracing which tbh after careful research I didn’t think it was worth the extra expense as only 15 games so far are supported.

Tras varios meses de uso sigo muy satisfecho con la gráfica. Esbonita poco pesada, más pequeña de lo que parece, no hace ruido y rinde genial, excelente calidad precio.

A review is several parts:
Firstly, do NOT trust any Amazon Promo, especially if it is redeem by code. This product had a redeem code Promo. When I follow the instructions on Amazon Australia site, the company state – This product was not purchased from us, so we cannot provide the code. Reasonable. So then you try contacting Amazon Customer Service …
Secondly, I end up having to simplify the problem to single sylable words before anyone seems to understand what is happening and that they (Amazon Australia) is breaking the law. I am then promised they will resolve the issue and contact me back within 72 hours. A week later I have had no contact so I contact them again … with same result, they will resolve and contact me back! NOP! A week later I try for the third time and am consistantly told that it is not Amazon that is at fault, but the third party for not giving codes away for products they did not sell!
Amazon Australia, YOU ARE CRAP!!!
Finally, the Radeon RX5700 XT is an Awesome product and I do thoroughly recommend it. Just NEVER buy it or anything else from Amanzon!

First off, I had to take this card on installments, even when it was on sale; really foolhardy of me, but completely worth it. Also, don’t be swayed by reviews of other customers who “think” they know how this card works; they have yet to unlock it’s full potential. I have been following the reviews for this card given by Hardware Unboxed, Jayz2Cents, Gamers Nexus, AnandTech, Tom’s Hardware and PC Mag ever since the card was launched; they all agree that for this price, the card is an exceptional bang for the buck, especially when backed by the WindForce technology that the company perfected in their NVidia lineup. (However, in terms of raw cooling, you better go for PowerColour Red Devil 5700xt, it has better cooling performance but is more expensive)
Now on to the review.
The card comes with a good packaging backed by ESD (Electro-Static Discharge) bags, a healthy dose of thermocole packaging and an added box for ensuring zero movement; however, make sure you have a good mask or are in a well ventilated area, the smell from the packaging can be a bit overwhelming. (And ALWAYS, ALWAYS touch a metal object, or strap yourself to an electro-static discharge band plugged into the earthing of the power outlet, especially when you have walked over a carpet in winter, or you will risk damaging the card and end up bricking it from all the static buildup, because let’s face it, even when on sale this thing is expensive and you DON’T want a Rs. 40,000/- paper weight)
Next, the card itself. It is basically a binned card straight from the board partner of AMD, basically it means that all the cards from third party vendors such as “Gigabyte”, “MSI”, etc. will have the best silicon wafers for manufacturing the cards and won’t rely on the infamous “Silicon Lottery” for the performance, meaning a PowerColour RedDevil, an ASUS TUFF Gaming, an MSI Evoke and the XFX Thicc card will overclock to exactly the same performance levels of around 1900 MHz; they WILL however, differ beyond that on the simple technique of COOLING, as each manufacturer has their own proprietary cooling technology, from graphene thermal pads, to higher RPM fans to thicker thermal pads on the backplate (refer to Gamer’s Nexus on this). But for normal everyday gaming usage, this card will perform exactly the same, irrespective of company or price.
However, let it be known, this card is NOT for simple everyday games like CS:GO, Fornite and FIFA sessions, in which case I would recommend you look to the cheaper and better alternatives such as the RX 590, the RX5500 and the NVidia 1650 Super versions. If you plan to buy this card and drop this kind of money, you better do it to futureproof the PC for titles such as CyberPunk 2077, Halo Infinite, NFS Heat and other AAA titles on full 4K resolutions, though it will require some fiddling on the advanced graphics tab to get that 60 fps sweet spot.
Finally, the thermals and noise. This card has among the hottest temps for GDDR6 memory, peaking at around 86°C, however, the fans still help to keep it under control, although they can start getting a bit loud if you overclock it too high. I would recommend leaving it at stock speeds and let the inbuilt hardware handle the thermals; just make sure the case has a good sound proofing material as the fans can get loud beyond a certain usage threshold, especially beyond the 1100 RPM mark. The Edge temp however, is cooler than most cards and doesn’t peak beyond 68°C even with peak usage; though it is NOT a viable measure of thermal handling of the card. The backplate has thermal pads affixed to it, meaning it will also act as an active thermal heatsink in case things get hot. In total, the card will be cool when on stock speeds, though increasing the graphics intensity will cause it to heat up considerably fast.
The total TDP for the system is also well managed, not peaking beyond 377 Watts even under load, though OC’ing the card will ramp up usage, fast. However, for all intents and purposes, the card is surprisingly efficient when comparing with other cards, the only other card being more energy efficient is the stock reference design from AMD.
Lastly, and the most important, ensure that your Mo-bo can support this card and the PSU is capable of putting out a healthy amount of power (better get a 600W or higher to be on the safe side) apart from having 8+6 pin power connectors for only the GPU; the Mo-bo will have it’s own dedicated 8 pin power connectot. Moreover, once installed please download the latest Radeon Adrenaline Software from the AMD site, as well as keeping your Windows up to date, the stutters experienced by other users are due compatibility issues between the latest Radeon graphics driver and Windows not being up to date.
Thus to sum it up.
PROS:
1. Bang for the buck, best all rounder card.
2. VERY energy efficient, even under high graphics load, unless you overclock, in which case, this stands moot.
3. Good temps, not too hot in normal usage, but not the coolest either. However, the fans do a damn good job to keep it under control.
4. Sturdy construction, the additional backplate reduces flex and also acts as a heatsink
5. RGB goodness, because who doesn’t?
CONS:
1. Junction temps, they can get get really hot when over clocked.
2. Fan noise at higher speeds, make sure your case is closed.
