This ram works great out of the box. I am using it with the Maximus XI Extreme motherboard with no issues. The lighting on the RAM is nice and bright and it is easily controlled through Corsair’s iCue software. I purchased this after returning faulty vengeance lpx memory and I am much happier with this dominator platinum kit.

I have always made fun of people with LEDs all over their computers. But I just built a new system for the first time in years, only to find few case options that were both large enough for the components I wanted and fully-enclosed. All of the cases seem to have a transparent side panel these days. And even the motherboard has LEDs all over it.
So, rather than fight it, I decided to lean into it. I bought these RAM sticks over the non-LED versions, and well… I regret nothing. I have gotten hours of enjoyment changing the way the LEDs light up, and fine-tuning just exactly how I want my ridiculously lighted-up computer to look.
Oh, and they also work great as RAM. Nice and fast, very cool-running, and stable as a rock.
My one and only complaint is that the Windows software that controls the LEDs (iCue) interferes with the software that controls the other RGB lights on my motherboard. So if I want to change the way my Corsair’s look, I have to install that software, change it, and then uninstall the software. Otherwise, my other lights go all screwy. But that could be blamed equally on AsRock, the manufacturer of the mobo.

Great price for good ram. Rgb was extra fun but not necessary.
